Meet the Writer
Blaq Butterfly — Founder, The Circle of Becoming
Blaq Butterfly was born from my memoir-in-the-making, Unchained Butterfly, a story of navigating abandonment, heartbreak, trials, and transformation while holding onto hope, faith, and the desire to become. From that journey came The Circle of Becoming, a space where I share real-life moments, lessons, and inspiration for women finding their way through their own becoming. I’m still becoming, too. And whenever passion moves me, so does my desire to share another learning experience that may help another woman along the way.

I have an entire platform built around it. But somewhere in these conversations, we’ve lost the ability…
Becoming a mother later in life gave me something I didn’t have the wisdom to appreciate at first — a foundation. Years of adulting before motherhood meant I already knew how to manage a household, handle my finances, and hold a schedule. And I was grateful for that. Until my body reminded me, in no…
Black motherhood isn’t the cause of poverty — single motherhood inside a broken system is. The data, the history, and the way out.
